I was planning on heading down to see who's there. If it buggers out I'll go explore the nearby pubs and have a pint.

I hope Alan still intends to show up. Alan? Coming out?

I brought my stuff with me, but now I'm not sure if it's worth going. There might be just two of us at the end... If Alan won't come, then we should maybe just leave it for Thursday. What do you think Craig?

It's so nice outside. I think I'll go see what's up, gamble with a couple tokens.. Nothing will happen if we wait for everyone to commit. Alan or no-Alan, we'll still need to collect more people. Maybe I'll stop by the library and grab a book to read while I wait. Perhaps there will be a game of new people there to join... I probably won't make it to the park until 6:30 due to the train ride and walk.

No worries if you don't want to gamble Svato. If I go home I won't spend any time outside, which wouldn't be so good. So this is my way of forcing myself to spend a bit of time outside. Despite being tired due to helping a friend move yesterday. I do have other things to do this evening, so am tempted to not go. But I think I will go in spite of that...

Hey Craig,
not sure if you're still there... I can't make it today after all. We're interviewing some people tomorrow (PHP developer-let me know if you know someone looking) morning and I still have to prepare the tests....
Sorry, can't make it today.

No worries. I'll still go and do a bit of lying around in the sun. Very Happy

Hey,
Sorry I didn't post today, it was my birthday and we went to see Batman Begins on the IMAX.
I won't be out on Thursday either as we are going to the zoo.
Cheers

Hmmm, all I found were two womens teams practicing Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Seriously though - I got there at 6:35pm and yes, it looked like only one of the two ball diamonds was in use (slowpitch so no long shots to interfere with one of the three soccer fields) and two of the soccer fields were unused (the centre one inside the track was being used for an official kids game).

HOWEVER at 7pm two womens teams showed up to practice on one of the soccer fields, and the other soccer field was taken up by a 6 on 6 ultimate game.

I think there was still room at the far south end, but if someone were ever to play softball there, there wouldn't be room.

Oh, and there were no pickup games and no sign of any pickup players - just a couple dads playing with a toddler or two.

So I don't think the Riverdale park is going to work out on Mondays.

PS: It's a beautiful place to lie down under the sun - with it's massive hill overlooking the Don Valley and the cityscape of the core right there. (Though wish it were waves on a beach instead of cars on a freeway, but I betcha if I had gone further up the hill that would have been reduced...)

Hmmm,
Yet another field taken up after 7pm.
It looks like the Monday game might be down the tubes, we could always try on a Tuesday?
Jeff had suggested Hart House at UOFT. My only reservation with that is that it might get too busy? I'm not interested in 10 on 10 to be honest, I think after about 7 on 7 it becomes a bit pointless, especially when certain players have Maradona dellusions.
Anybody got any ideas?

I'm up for trying Tuesday at Hart House or somewhere where we'll get adds or can be adds ourselves. Let's discusson Thursday. (About the 10 on 10 and Madonna players - we'll just have to start our own game on a spare bit of space, and not let it get beyond 7 on 7... be real hardasses about that..)

Where is everyone mostly located? There are a few public fields close to me in Scarborough, but I haven't checked them out yet. This site lists all the public parks in TO:
http://www.city.toronto.on.ca/parks/parks_gardens/index.htm

I just opened each one until I found the ones with soccer fields.
